Web Developer

Want to work in a casual environment on a wide variety of projects using ASP.NET 2.0 with VB / C#, SQL Server and other Web application technologies? Do you excel at architecting and building solutions and consider yourself as being extremely proficient with developing technologies?

We are a rapidly growing web application development and web design / marketing agency based in Ardmore (walking distance to Septa R5 train) that has an immediate need for a Senior Web Application Architect / Developer with a focus on programming ASP.NET using VB, SQL Server Programming and XML/XSLT. In this position, you would be leading a team of developers that are dedicated to working together and supporting each other.  You will be responsible for working with the team to define architectural aspects of projects, contribute to the development effort (only when necessary), perform code reviews and be involved in other aspects of the SDLC.   The types of projects include “productizing” a web portal for the financial industry, architecting enhancements for a content management systems (CMS), reengineering a shopping cart platform, research SharePoint solutions, data warehousing and get involved in many other types of custom application design / development projects.

Candidate must be proficient and have experience in the following core technologies:

  • Visual Studio 2005/8, ASP .NET 2.0/3.5 (ASP.NET) using Visual Basic / C#
  • SQL Server 2000 / 2005 Database Design, Transact SQL, DTS/SSIS
  • Designing and building application layer classes / objects
  • Windows Server 2000 / 2003 and IIS Management
  • HTML / CSS
  • XML / XSLT
  • JavaScript

Desirable (but not required) technologies:

  • SharePoint Server 2007
  • Flash / Flex / ActionScript Programming

General Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions
  • Use of methodology for application development life cycle
  • Organized/standard coding practices using object oriented design
  • Work well independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent writing and language skills
